About Me: Hilary Burnap-Short

I grew up in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York where my parents owned and operated a successful farm market and restaurant for over three decades.  My formative years were spent in the food industry. My love of food was present in college as I was the steward for my sorority, responsibilities included menu planning and shopping for 18 women. From 1998-2004 I managed my parents' restaurant and oversaw 25 employees.

From 2005 through 2012 I was actively involved in real estate investing and sales in the Adirondacks, specializing in resort properties.  In the fall of 2012 I relocated with my husband to the Verde Valley in Northern Arizona. 

My passion is preparing great food and presenting it beautifully.  Through the years I have been actively involved in cooking, catering, cookbook and recipe collecting, trying new foods and evolving the way my family and friends eat. My cooking styles vary. I tend to stick with lean proteins, lots of veggies, healthy gluten free grains all prepared with lots of flavor. Clean eating, nothing  processed, food made from scratch. Simple foods made to taste uncomplicatedly great . Of course I will gladly prepare anything that you request and look forward to creating your favorite meals.   

Hilly Cooks, LLC has food safety certification from Yavapai county and is fully insured.
